ABOUT
EMMA JO
Emma Jo is a small but perfectly formed design and print studio dedicated to good, honest design for paper lovers. We offer a diverse and ever expanding collection of invitations, save the dates and all the coordinating stationery you could ever wish for. We are on endless pursuit of new, exciting techniques and concepts, specialising in bespoke designs and a variety of print options including letterpress, foil, screen, digital printing and laser cutting.
Established in 2009 by designer Emma Prescott to provide a friendly, relaxed experience for couples that want something a little less ordinary. We believe that people are the most important, paper is just a lovely addition you can have fun with or completely indulge in if your heart so desires. We love nothing more than listening to our couple’s stories and their stationery ideas and turning them into pieces brimming with character and personal style.
We love to hunt for inspiration and experiment with new ideas so you won’t find just one style here but a plethora of designs and print applications to choose from. All of our designs are based on an understanding of good design, skill and experience in print. We are serious about offering the best stationery and why our collections feature creative concepts, original artwork and hand finished details using the very best papers.
As well as a designer, Emma is an experienced printer and maker. She is on hand to guide you and share her knowledge, as she takes your design from concept to the print room.
EMMA
Not surprisingly I love stationery, shocker! I am hugely passionate about printing, in all its forms and using my hands to make little tangible, treasures of loveliness that bring a little joy to others. And I love great design. Bad design troubles me, probably more than it should. This sentiment is at the heart of Emma Jo and why I love designing and printing wedding stationery. Stationery, for weddings in particular must ultimately serve a purpose – to inform, but I also believe beautiful, well considered, really good design adds value – it creates something extraordinary that’s worth cherishing. Like great design, your stationery should tell your story, be a reflection of your style and make your guests feel special and loved.
I realise not everyone cares quite as much about design, but if you do, I would love to work with you. If you don’t get excited about design and your wedding stationery merely serves a purpose I’m probably not the designer for you.
STYLE
Like choosing a photographer or venue, it is important that you choose a stationer whose style resonates with you. Have a good nosey through my collections and bespoke projects and get a good sense of our style and if it floats your boat and you like the idea of me creating something for you I’d love to hear from you.
I would describe my style as diverse and innovative; I’m always exploring new and unexpected ways to make standout, conversational paper. My work is a happy mix of old and new, simple and fancy and refined and extravagant.
I love typography, I’m a typesetting fanatic and hand lettering enthusiast. I love strong, bold monochromes. I love understated, subtle palettes and pops of bright colour. I love copper… and gold a lot. I love pretty pinks and girly aesthetics paired with a masculine edge. I believe in the little details. I like white space. I think less is more. I love recycled papers coupled with fancy metallic foils. I love clean typography with fun patterns or illustrations.
